Can you think of anything better than sweetened fresh strawberries and whipped cream? No? Well, how about sweetened fresh strawberries and cream blended together to make a fluffy and creamy strawberry mousse? The result? Just look at this beauty…
Notwithstanding how delicious this strawberry mousse is, it only requires 3 ingredients and around 15 minutes to make. With this in mind, there is no excuse not to make it. You can then keep the mousse in the fridge for a couple of days and feast on it whenever your conscience allows. Yum!
So, let’s make this beauty…
1. Gather all of the ingredients together
As already stated, there are only 3 ingredients for this strawberry mousse recipe. All that’s needed are fresh strawberries, granulated sugar and whipping cream. Easy…
The only preparation is to take those wonderful strawberries, cut off the tops, wash and slice them.
2. Make the sweetened strawberry puree
The sweetened strawberry puree forms the base for the recipe and is also added to the cream to form the mousse. To make the puree, first, add the sliced strawberries to a kitchen blender.
Following this, sprinkle the sugar over the strawberries.
Finally, blend this all together to form the puree. The end result should look something like this…
3. Prepare the strawberry mousse base
With the sweetened strawberry puree made, take half of it and spoon it evenly into 4 glasses. I use glasses to present a mousse but a ramekin is equally suitable.
Finally, place the mousse bases in a fridge while you prepare the mousse itself.
4. Prepare the cream and form the mousse
There’s nothing difficult here. The first thing to do is whip the cream.
Finally, and after the cream is whipped, add the remaining strawberry puree and fold both together with a spoon.
And there you go, the strawberry mousse is made.
5. Serve the fluffy and creamy strawberry mousse
With the mousse made, spoon this into the glasses of sweetened strawberries patting it down as you do. To finish, add a garnish of sliced strawberries and a small mint leaf if you have some.
And that’s it, my sweet summery pals. Fluffy and creamy strawberry mousse. A classic dessert recipe and one of the easiest to make. Only 3 ingredients and around 15 minutes. What’s stopping you? Enjoy after dinner or as a little treat sitting in the sun. Yum!
