Cheese and chive scones. I love these savoury beauties. Serve with just a good helping of butter, or use as croutons with some wonderful warming soup. Yum! | theyumyumclub.com
First, get all of the ingredients together.
Next, make the dry ingredients mix by first sieving twice the flour, paprika, baking powder and salt.
Now, add the cubed butter and rub in between your hands to make a crumble.
Now, add the cheese and chives and do the same.
Make a well in the dry ingredient mix and add 3/4 of the milk.
Mix together to form a firm and pliable dough. If too dry just add some more milk a little at a time.
Now, turn the oven on to pre-heat at 200C / 180C Fan and add a baking tray in the oven to heat.
Next, roll the dough to around 2 cm thickness and cut the scones using a circular cutter. Now place on the pre-heated tray and brush with milk.
Finally, sprinkle some grated cheese over each scone.
Now bake in the oven for around 15-20 minutes or until the cheese has browned on top.
And there you have it. Wonderful savoury cheese and chive scones ready for eating. Yum!
