This is such a simple recipe with only 7 ingredients. First are the base super fruits of avocado and banana. Both full of potassium. Great for keeping your heart healthy and regulating your blood pressure. The avocados also add fat, but not the bad stuff. The oil in avocados has zero saturated fat and is full of monounsaturated fatty acids, which drive down cholesterol. Good news for all of us.
Then there’s the baby spinach. Fantastic for providing fibre and iron. It’s also full Vitamin K which is critical for healthy strong bones. Remember Popeye!?
Next, are the chia seeds and ginger. These are the super ingredients. Both chia seeds and ginger are packed full of antioxidants, but there’s more. Chia seeds are high in fibre and packed full of nutrients. Ginger, on the other hand, has wonderful anti-inflammatory and anti-nausea qualities.
Last but by no means least there’s the almond milk that brings it all together. A fantastic dairy substitute which is nutritious and low in calories. Great for those on a vegan diet or those who simply want to reduce the amount of dairy they are consuming.
That’s it. A very simple, healthy and delicious Grab’n Go meal that will set you for the day and all the way through until dinner. So let’s make it…
1. Gather all of the ingredients together
Make this avocado and spinach detox smoothie is simple. First, get all of the ingredients together.
And wash the baby spinach.
The printable recipe makes you 6 smoothies so just scale up or down depending on your needs.
2. Prepare the chia seeds
Chia seeds come dried so have to be rehydrated. To do this just take half of the almond milk and add the chia seeds. Leave them to soak for 5-10 minutes and they are ready.
3. Blend, blitz and enjoy…
With the chia seeds soaked all that’s needed is to blend, blitz and enjoy. Just place all ingredients in your blender.
Once blended smooth just simply pour in a glass, sprinkle a few more chia seeds over the top and enjoy!!

- 2 bananas
- 600 ml unsweetened almond milk
- 200 grams baby spinach
- 2 avocados
- 3 tbsp chis seeds
- 2 tsp finely chopped ginger
- 2 tbsp honey

Gather all of the ingredients together.

Wash the spinach.

Soak the chia seeds in half of the almond milk for 5 - 10 minutes.

Place all of the ingredients into the blender and blitz until smooth.
